International Advanced Confocal Microscopy Course       (Workshop/Training)       CRTD - Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden - Cluster of Excellence, Dresden, Germany       In September 2008, Leica Microsystems CMS, Mannheim, Germany again offers to Leica confocal users from all over the world the opportunity to gain insight and know-how in advanced confocal microscopy techniques. Leica confocal application experts will give insight to methods and possibilities in confocal microscopy with introductory lectures and a main focus on practical sessions. In October 2002 Leica Microsystems started the Advanced Confocal Microscopy Course and since then has offered this course successfully on a yearly basis. This years International Advanced Confocal Microscopy Course will take place from September 16th to September 19th in Dresden, Germany in cooperation with the University of Technology Dresden. Talks will cover topics of common interest like AFM, FCS, FLIM and optical aberrations as well as an introduction to methods, concepts and theoretical considerations on the course topics: Image Quality, Live Cell Imaging, FRET, FRAP and Multi Color Imaging. Practical sessions will be executed on Leica TCS SP5 systems with LAS AF user interface. We will concentrate on experiments, tips and tricks and hands on. The course is limited to 18 participants. Basic knowledge in confocal microscopy and basic training with LAS AF is a prerequisite for participation. Course fee is EURO 990.- (Hotel expenses not included).
