Overview

The Leica DM E compound microscope is designed for general biology and specific life science applications in university education and routine laboratory applications. Its highly efficient illumination system with a more powerful halogen lamp than any other microscope in this class provides consistent color and intensity throughout the whole lamp life (over 2000 hours). The Leica DM E will enhance the quality of your microscopy work. Equipped with the technology of a research microscope, e.g. optional Koehler illumination and phase contrast, polarization or darkfield illumination, it opens up new horizons not only for one microscopist, but, using the multiviewing facility, up to ten at a time.

Optics
Superb optics provides brilliant, high contrast imaging quality. Upgradeable optics to Leica DM L series for even better performance. Anti-Fungus / Mold warranty protects your investment. Spring-loaded high magnification objectives prevent broken sample slides. Standard 18mm field of view / 10x eyepiece provides a wide FOV and comfortable operation. Standard, high eyepoint eyepieces available with pointer and accept 21 mm reticules for measuring or counting applications.
Available with binocular, trinocular, or video viewing bodies and Leica DM L series viewing bodies. All objectives are parfocal and parcentered to minimize refocusing. 45 degree viewing angle, 360 degree rotatable viewing bodies provides ease of sharing an instrument and comfort.
Construction

Illumination
Easily upgrade from 20W to 35W just by changing the lamp! 2,000 hour Tungsten-Halogen lamp is 20x longer than other microscopes. Saves time and replacement cost and minimizes down time. Tungsten-Halogen illumination does not change color or intensity throughout the life of the lamp. Wide dynamic range of illumination, provides ample light for the most basic and highest demand applications such as darkfield, phase and photomicrography.
Comfort & Convenience
The compact size of the Leica DM E keeps key controls within easy reach and takes up less table & storage space. The brass weighted focus controls are extremely smooth & easy to turn while maintaining accuracy. Low heat output for comfortable operation. 45 degree viewing angle & 360 degree rotatable viewing bodies for easy sharing & comfortable viewing. Low position of mechanical stage minimizes wrist movement.
