Optical brilliance based on pathbreaking technics!

Transmitted light axis with CCIC
Our unique CCIC* stands for Constant Colour Intensity Control and automatically maintains for you the colour temperature - even when the lamp voltage is changed. An essential requisite for convincing digital images.

Condenser system
The fully automated condensers meet the most demanding requirements. The motorized top, which automatically swings in and out of the light path, is applicable from 1.25x to 100x. The condenser turret accommodates up to four light rings as well as the brightfield and darkfield positions.

Motorized fluorescence axis with FIM
The worlds first motorized Fluorescence Intensity Manager (FIM**) allows to reduce the fluorescence excitation light in distinct steps. It protects your sample from bleaching and provides always the appropriate intensity levels for different fluorochromes. Of course- all fluorescence axis are equipped with a light trap to effectively reduce straylight. The perfect supplement to our pixel shift free filter cubes.

Objectives for all demands
Leica Microsystems offers a broad range of various objective classes matching even high demanding requirements: from cost-effective N PLAN up to the optically best PLAN APO objectives every customer will find the best solution.

Ease of use due to intelligent automation!

The intelligent automation of the Leica DM4000 B is based on “electronic managers” for various purposes. Common for all these managers is their flexibility and the perfect adaptation to the users preferences. All settings are memorized and provide absolute reproducible results. Unique is the integrated display to monitor all settings of the microscope – everything is under your control.

Contrast Manager
Benefit from the speed and the accuracy of the Contrast Manager. It supports all transmitted light and fluorescence contrasting methods and allows to switch from one contrast method to another just by one button click. Depending on the selected objective all necessary adjustments are done automatically. This means that always the correct light ring for phase contrast is switched into the light path – just to give you an example of everyday work.

Illumination Manager
Our DigitalMicroscopes automatically recognize the contrasting technique and objective that is currently in use. And of course it memorizes automatically the last used settings for this combination and recalls them. There's no need to adjust circumstantially any more diaphragms or the light intensity values- just another example how microscope managers ease your work.

Variable Function Keys
You can assign any function you like to the six function keys. Due to their convenient position on the wings of the microscope, frequently used functions are always within easy reach.

Perfect camera integration
When you switch from one contrast method to another the camera exposure times are adjusted for you - Leica’s perfect interaction of imaging devices.

Complete microscopy system based on Leica’s expertise!

The quality of an image and the time you need to acquire it is only as good as the interaction of the individual components of the imaging system. Leica - as provider of microscopes, cameras, and software - can offer complete microscopy systems from one hand.

Documentation tubes
For the Leica DM4000 B a broad variety of documentation tubes is available. Optional with one or two camera exits. According to the contrasting method the appropriate camera can be selected.

New c-mounts for homogeneous images
The new 0,55x and 0,7x c-mounts are the perfect connection between microscope and the digital imaging world. Due to a redesign of the optics the new c-mounts fit perfect to all current DFC cameras of Leica Microsystems. As a result internal reflexes and a natural shading are dramatically reduced.

Digital cameras
The Leica DFC range of digital cameras offers the right camera for every requirement. From general to specific, our cameras are ideal: colour or grey-level pictures of fluorescence specimens or pathological materials. The camera chips feature up to 12 mega pixel image resolution.

Basic software programm
The core functionality of LAS (Leica Application Suite) provides you with all features necessary to control the microscope, acquire brilliant images and store the results on your PC. Remarkable is the ease of use and the user friendly interface. The free of charge core software can be upgraded with dedicated software modules for your particular application.

Innovation competence creates platforms for demanding applications!

A wide variety of easy to use software modules for LAS complete the Leica DM4000 B application system for digital imaging and analysing. The high modularity serves all needs - starting from routine applications up to leading edge research.

“Store & Recall” module
All setting from the microscope and the camera can be stored as metadata together with each acquired image. The microscope and the camera can be reset to exact these settings whenever you want it.

Image Organizer
Easy to use basic imaging database dedicated for pathologist and clinical applications. With an integrated search function to simplify the process of retrieving images and information.

Image Overlay
This versatile software tool is designed for multi-fluorescence imaging including enhancements and documentation. Create colourful fluorescence overlay of different fluorochromes by just one button click. The perfect application for the motorized fluorescence axis of Leica DM4000 B.

Interactive Measurement modules
For qualitative and quantitative analysis of your images: sophisticated measurements on areas of interest, classifying and counting of individual objects.
