Leica QWin offers a vast range of alternatives - encompassing grey level morphology, convolutions and look-up table transforms, all working at high speed on mega pixel images in monochrome or colour. Some examples include tophat, flood, maxima, build, delineate, fill, closing.
Watershed transforms are used to perform image segmentation independent of the detection method and are suitable for images where markers can be derived that identify the regions to be identified.
Objects are selected for binary image processing and measurement by the Detection process. In the case of grey images the threshold used may be darker or lighter than a single threshold or, between two thresholds.
