The working unit is called a Snow Crab Section comprised of 15 employees at Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Moncton New Brunswick, Canada. The research activity covers a wide range of field from ultramicroscopic research to population dynamics of commercially important crustaceans.

Apart from the field and computer-related work, all biological investigations have been done in a laboratory, called Crustacean Physiology Laboratory. This laboratory (responsible: Dr. Kadra Benhalima) has been dealing with physiological research such as reproductive biology, growth-related subject and disease monitoring of all commercially important crustacean species such as snow, toad, red, Jonah crabs and lobster.
