Knife type:
- Tungsten carbide knife or TC65 tungsten carbide blades
- Glass knife (mainly for sections below 1 micron)
Knife angle:
- 20 degrees - 45 degrees (TCK)
- 45 degrees - 55 degrees (GK)
Rule: The harder the material to cut, the higher the knife angle.

Knife clamping:
- Knife clamping with central plate recommended.
Wedge angle:
- "small" (soft plastics)
