Leica CV5030 coverslipper

Mounting medium is unevenly distributed in the label area or at the front edge of the coverslip – what can I do?
FAQ Report
A: Too much or too little medium is dispensed
Enter the settings menu and increase the volume setting (VOL) as described in the operator’s manual and/or change to a nozzle larger in diameter (smaller number). In addition or alternatively, you may change the medium type setting using the TYP menu option as described in the operator’s manual. Please bear in mind that a lower setting may be helpful in particular for low viscosity media.

A: Medium stroke setting is not correct
Enter the settings menu and increase the stroke length (LEN). In addition or alternatively, you may change the position of the stroke on the slide using the STP menu option as described in the operator’s manual.

A: Reagent level in the load container is too low

If wet coverslipping is performed, microbubbles near the label area may be generated by a low reagent level in the load container. Either top up the reagent or switch to the optional, deeper load container (only possible in stand-alone mode, not in workstation mode).
