Symposia Part 1 : Leica TCS SP8 : Looking forward to your discoveries

With the Leica TCS SP8 Leica presents its new confocal platform for high-speed 4D imaging, multispectral sensitivity and upgradability into any confocal imaging modality including multiphoton excitation, CARS imaging, single molecule detection and high content screening. The presentation will focus on how the Leica TCS SP8 accelerates confocal imaging thus paving the way for new applications with video-rate confocal imaging and saving time on large scale imaging projects. The second focus is on super-sensitive detection and new optics for maximal photon efficiency and sample viability, including the second generation white light laser with the unique Lightgate techonology for informative imaging.


Part 2 : Leica TCS SP8 gated STED : Opening the gate to the super-resolution


After enabling multi-color confocal nanoscopy on the Leica TCS STED and the Leica TCS STED CW, Leica Microsystems now presents the next milestone in confocal super-resolution. Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy provides fast and easy access to resolutions far beyond the Abbe limit. Gated STED is a new further development of STED microscopy . It combines STED with CW lasers and time gated detection and this way increases resolution as well as photo stability significantly.
