The teacher has the flexibility to take control of the students’ computers, and lock each keyboard and mouse to control the laboratory workflow, for example. This unique accessibility also allows the teacher to interact with an individual student and share images for one-on-one instruction.
The ability to select a student’s image for sharing with others on their local screens, via a projector or on a large flat screen, uniquely relates a student’s work to the course as the subject unfolds. The Leica IMS500 can also operate independently of a computer if image acquisition and the highest resolution are not required for the coursework at hand.
