Contrasting techniques of the new Leica DMR HCS microscope system

The contrasting techniques of the DMR HCS system are the result of a consistent further development of the Delta system. The modularity, upgradability and ergonomy have been improved and lead to a further increase in performance.
By using new photolithography processes and measurement interferometers and by adding new objectives, the application range of the established technique has been extended.
The interference contrast system has been made even more user-friendly by further standardisation of the pupil positions and more sensitive and easily reproducible contrast settings.
The newly developed technique of Reflection Contrast is a useful addition to the range of contrasting techniques for the analysis of weakly reflecting specimens.

Incident light fluorescence imaging has been improved by (a) increasing the illumination intensity and (b) distinctly enhancing contrast by minimising autofluorescence of the objectives.
