Requirements of confocal microscopy on the quality of micro-objectives

Confocal microscopy is an additional contrasting technique in microscopy. Compared with the normal microscope an effective increase of two point resolution is possible. The optical components must not have image defects or aberration. If no optimum accessories are used, image quality is decreased about a factor of 2.
