The Leica Peloris is a rapid tissue processor that delivers high quality results for any tissue. It can be operated using xylene as well as in xylene-free mode, achieving rapid processing results using a unique ActivFlo™ system which generates ideal processing conditions. With two independent retorts, Peloris offers laboratories the flexibility to process tissue specimens according to workload demands. With Peloris, laboratories can now achieve high quality results while implementing high-productivity Lean workflows for reduced turnaround times and same-day diagnosis.

The advanced reagent management system monitors reagent quality so that Peloris can automatically choose the best reagent station for each processing step and also automatically indicate recommended reagent changes. The reagent management system maximizes both reagent life and tissue processing quality. The remote fill and drain system makes the process of changing reagents safe and fast.

The Leica Peloris has an intuitive touch-screen user interface with three password-protected access levels (operator, supervisor and service). The interface allows rapid protocol selection and straightforward processing run setup as all functions are easily accessible. Laboratories can choose to use predefined protocols or can easily create new processing protocols. Operators have full control over the pressure/vacuum (including cycling and ambient options), temperature, and duration of each protocol step.

Another safety innovation is the xylene-free mode, which replaces xylene clearing with a proven alcohol-based system and xylene cleaning reagents with Waxsol™ cleaning solution. In xylene-free mode, Peloris makes it possible to completely eliminate xylene and improve laboratory safety and amenity. Along with conventional and xylene-free protocols, Peloris also offers reprocessing protocols and a rapid cleaning protocol to ensure each retort is quickly cleaned and dried in preparation for the next run.

The Leica Peloris also has the flexibility of two or three basket processing (200 or 300 cassettes per retort) and three-sensor liquid level sensing ensures each retort is sufficiently filled to cover all samples.
