Interesting video "Intravenous microinjection of zebrafish larvae to study acute kidney injury"

01 September 2010

Leica S6 E

This video article describes a zebrafish model of acute kidney injury (AKI) upon intravenous microinjection of a nephrotoxicant.

Microinjections have been performed under a Leica S6 E stereo microscope.

Successful microinjection was verified by monitoring lucifer yellow dextran fluorescence in the heart of the zebrafish using a Leica M205 FA stereo microscope.

The article provides a detailed protocol for intravenous microinjection and can be transferred to other types of studies that require delivering soluble substances into the bloodstream of zebrafish larvae.
