Leica XY Stage Precision and speed With the Leica XY stage, the tedious procedure of having to manipulate your specimen manually until it is in the correct position under the sereomicroscope is no longer necessary. By means of the two easily moveable, yet extremely precise controlling wheels, the specimen can be moved after placement within the shortest time until the spot to be investigated has been found. When combining the XY stage wit the 4x glass slide, up to four preparations can be placed on the work surface, for example, and run through vertically in a fast, precise and easy way. The accuracy lies at values of less than 10µm.
Always in focus The conventional XY stages have the disadvantage of being higher and are therefore no longer at the optimum specimen level when transmitted-light bases are used. The homogeneity and strength of the illuminated area diminsh, and the light can no longer be guided optimally through the specimen.
The new Leica XY stage solves this problem - after changing from the standard stage the level of the specimen remains at exactly the same elevation as before, and the illumination settings remain unchanged.
The SlideOn concept The change-over from the standard stage to the XY stage is astonishingly simple - after undoing a few screws you can easily lift off the standard stage and replace it by the XY stage. Therefore, if you do not decide on buying an XY stage when you purchase a new Leica stereomicroscope base, you can easily supplement your Leica equipment later at any time.
