As for all automated Leica DigitalMicroscopes the transmitted light axis features automated aperture and field diaphragms as well as Leica’s CCIC*. The Constant Colour Intensity Control automatically maintains the colour temperature at the same level even when the lamp voltage is changed.
The worlds first fully automated Differential Interference ContrastNo circumstantial playing with sliders or loose prisms, manual polarizers and analysers. Always the correct combination of prisms for best image quality – fast and reliable. Even for untrained microscopists the results are breathtaking. Users can select different shearing according to the specimen. Of course- the individual bias is stored for each objective and prism combination and can be restored whenever needed.
Motorized z-focusThe z drive of Leica DM6000 B is motorized, providing the conveniences of an automatic parfocality adjustment. You can rely on saved focus levels for each objective and an automated repositioning of various z levels. You are using petri dishes for live cell imaging? On demand the stage is lowered automatically when you switch to another objective. Of course the stepsize of the z focus can be easily switched between fine and fast movement- fitting your current demands.
Motorized nosepieceThe 7x nosepiece of the Leica DM6000 B is absolute coded and motorized. Two operation modi for dry and immersion objectives ensure save handling – even of delicate samples.
Shutters** for transmitted light and fluorescence axisAll DigitalMicroscopes starting from the Leica DM4000 B up to the Leica DM6000 B are equipped with two independently operated shutters. Ideal for time lapse recordings to protect your specimen.

The aim of our intelligent automation is to make it as easy as possible for you. Core of the automation are “electronic managers” for various purposes. Common for all these managers is their flexibility and the perfect adaptation to the users preferences. Tailor your system to perfectly suit your demands.
Contrast ManagerBenefit from the speed and the accuracy of the Contrast Manager. It supports all transmitted light and fluorescence contrasting methods and allows to switch from one contrast method to another just by one button click. Depending on the selected objective all necessary adjustments are done automatically. In case of Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) the values of shearing and bias are stored together with each objective to offer reproducible results.
Illumination ManagerOur DigitalMicroscopes automatically recognize the contrasting technique and objective that is currently in use. And of course it memorizes automatically the last used settings for this combination and recalls them. There's no need to adjust circumstantially any more diaphragms or the light intensity values- just another example how Leica’s microscope managers ease your work.
Variable Function KeysYou can assign any function you like to the 10 freely programmable function keys. Due to their convenient position, frequently used functions are always within easy reach.
Integrated Leica touchscreenIntegrated in the base of the microscope, ergonomically placed is our Leica SmartTouch touchscreen. All motorized functions can be easily controlled and monitored. You will get fast and effortless familiar with the menu due to the intuitive icon-based interface.
MEM functionUnique for Leica DM6000 B is the possibility to directly address a combination of a contrasting method with a particular objective. This means that you can easily recall e.g. DIC in combination with 63x magnification. This versatile tool speed up your work and can be operated either via Leica SmartTouch touchscreen, function key, Leica STP6000 or software.
Leica STP6000The new, external Leica STP6000 SmartTouch Panel offers a new level of operational freedom to the researcher. All automated microscope functions can be conveniently and intuitively set from anywhere within the workspace via the external control, which provides the same graphical user interface as Leica Application Suite (LAS) software. Also, the Leica SmartTouch Panel offers a focus wheel for fine and coarse adjustment, controls for x, y stage adjustment, and eleven programmable function buttons.

The Leica DM6000 B offers a fully motorized 5 fold or 8 fold fluorescence axis. The brilliant fluorescence images are based on Leica’s light trap to reduce background, and zero pixel shift fluorescence cubes. Of course all components are apochromatic corrected. But nowadays you can expect more from the leading supplier of fluorescence systems. Convince yourself.
Fast Internal Filter wheelsIn addition to the well known FIM* (Fluorescence Intensity Manager) of the Leica DM4000 B the Leica DM6000 B can be additional equipped with an fast internal filter wheel. It is used in combination with a triple or double filter cube. The filter wheel combines high-speed with vibration free movement for ultra-fast change of excitation light.
Motorized Excitation Manager**For triple or double stained immunofluorescence samples the intensities of different fluorochromes are always an issue for researchers. With the “Excitation Manager” the intensities can be carefully balanced by means of optical reduction or enhancement of particular excitation light. furthermore the values can be stored and restored for reproducible results.
Ultrafast external filter wheelsA wide variety of Leicas ultrafast external filterwheels support sophisticated fluorescence application up to calcium-ratio imaging and FRET. Both applications require speed and superior imaging performance. Fully integrated in Leica AF6000 fluorescence software as a seamless solution from one hand.
New Fluorescence lampThe new external light source Leica EL6000 is a plug and play fluorescence lamp with a life span of approximately 2000h. No time consuming adjustments needed anymore. In addition the Leica EL6000 is equipped with a ultrafast shutter-of course fully integrated in the microscope control either direct or via software.
Live cell imaging with the Leica DM6000 BThe Leica DM6000 B microscopy system is ideal suited for all live cell imaging applications. Cells and small animals like C.elegans can be monitored in a petri dish or a small, cost effective slide incubation chamber. The perfect temperature conditions are provided by means of a stage heating device and – if needed- a complete climate chamber. High speed, multi dimensional imaging with motion tracking, co-localization analysis and spectral unmixing support your successful research experiment.
