Overview

The Leica cryostat CM1900 is very easy to use (intuitive user concept) and guarantees excellent sectioning results. It is the solution of choice for cutting foils and multi-layer foils at temperatures down to –40°C. This is a fast method without complex and time consuming embedding processes for fast result generation.

Detailed Description

With the Leica CM1900 Leica Microsystems offers an attractive cryostat for foil sectioning and various other related applications. It provides a stabile chamber cooling and an independent specimen temperature control (twin compressor cooling system). The precise microtome with motorized advance guarantees a consistent section thickness. The actively cooled freezing shelf speeds up the freezing of the samples and enables the user to store up to ten samples during operation to cover the workload of quality control during the production of the foils. The optional precise specimen orientation assures that the sectioning plane is rectangular to the layers.
