The most comprehensive resource I can recommend is the Topic “Laser Microdissection” in Science Lab. You will find a number of helpful and interesting articles, webinars, tutorials and links to other resources, which are expanded on a regular base.
As an introduction to LMD you might find these two webinars of interest:
- Webinar: Leica Microsystems Laser Microdissection – Dissection Perfection
- Webinar: Laser Microdissection – Dissection Perfection
There are great explanations that will help you also in very specific applications. This is useful for RNA analysis, for example.
For what Leica LMDs offer, please see our product page Leica LMD6 & LMD7. Our LMD principle is unique: We move the laser, not the sample, and we collect with gravity. The results will convince you!
If you would like to get into the details of the system, you should not miss the technical data of our objectives, because they play a vital role in the system. The 10 dry objectives we offer are designed for LMD use and cover a magnification range of between 5x and 150x, the latter being the unique 150x SmartCut objective. With this, you can go into detail with high magnification and high resolution.
If you are looking for interesting publications in which LMD plays a role, please go to our publications list. I update this regularly to reflect the most recent publications.
