During the XXXII Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) in London, Leica Microsystems will present the Leica M844 and Leica M822 ophthalmic microscope with TrueVision 3D integrated visualization system on booth #A17.
Leica surgical microscopes equipped with TrueVision 3D technology open up a new dimension in ophthalmology: 3D visualization enhances medical education and facilitates OR communication as everybody in the Operating Room can see on the screen what the surgeon sees through the eyepieces of the microscope. What is more, the bright, three dimensional on-screen visualization delivered by the TrueVision 3D system, allows the surgeon to observe the operating field on a monitor instead of looking continuously through eyepieces – in a comfortable, upright posture and with a view of the area surrounding the operating field. *
One of the leading ophthalmic surgeons already working with TrueVision 3D technology is Dr. Robert J. Weinstock, the Director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery at the Eye Institute of West Florida. Dr. Weinstock is a pioneer in microincisional cataract surgery and the integration of refractive technologies into the cataract procedure. Dr. Weinstock will share his experiences using the TrueVision 3D visualization system on the Leica Microsystems booth at 11.30am, Sunday September 14. According to Dr. Weinstock: “TrueVision 3D is revolutionizing the way surgeons perform ophthalmic procedures. I am seeing immediate benefits in clinical outcomes and easing the burden of performing complex surgical steps".
During the congress, visitors to the Leica Microsystems’ booth will also have the chance to experience for themselves the revolutionary TrueVision 3D technology for teaching and heads up surgery.
* Leica M844 and Leica M822 with TrueVision 3DVisualization System for heads up surgery is not yet available for sale.
