Oncological Fluorescence with Leica M720 FL400 IntenseBlue and Leica M525 FL400 DoubleBlue

The development of fluorescence microscopy has a long tradition at Leica Microsystems. Today we are able to offer state-of-the-art oncological fluorescence to all our high-end neurosurgery microscopes, Leica M720 OH5 and Leica M525 OH4. Thanks to the integrated blue light illumination, surgeons can now remove as much of malignant tumor as safely and effectively as possible while also recording the procedure in High-Definition.

At Leica Microsystems, blue light means Leica FL400 - why?

  • Sufficient light intensity in blue light mode gives the surgeon the benefit of observing the tumor AND the anatomy much brighter in the full field of view.
  • Resection is easier to do, because less changes to the white light mode are necessary and the assistant is also able to see the fluorescence bright and clear.

Intra-operative oncological fluorescence

  • The Leica FL400 is equipped with Karl Storz filter technology and is available on both Leica high-end neurosurgery microscopes, Leica M525 OH4 and Leica M720 OH5.
  • Both microscopes are prepared to integrate an HD video recording system. The Med X Change HDMD® with the Panasonic HD camera V1.5 offers highest quality fluorescence images.
