Mollie completed her BS in Biological Engineering in 2016 from Louisiana State University. She then began her PhD in the lab of Dr. Antonios Mikos studying biomaterials for musculoskeletal tissue engineering. Her thesis work focuses on the development of tunable biomaterials derived from extracellular matrix. By leveraging native biochemical cues from decellularized tissue with tunable physicochemical properties afforded through scaffold fabrication techniques, we can develop highly tunable scaffolds with applications in several tissue types. Mollie will be defending her PhD thesis in the summer of 2021, after which she plans to pursue a career in the biotech industry.
