Elena von Molitor , PhD
Elena von Molitor obtained her Bachelor degree in Molecular and Technical Medicine in 2014 at Furtwangen University. In 2016, upon completion of her master thesis at Berkeley University, she finished her master studies in “Biomedical Science and Technologies” at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. Later she obtained her PhD at the institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Faculty of Biotechnology, Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, where she focused on the development of a human taste model to study taste signalling transduction. Therefore, she established 3D cultures with a taste bud-derived human cell line, expressing a fluorescent Ca2+ sensors, to quantitatively measure intracellular Ca2+ changes upon acute dynamic perfusion of gustatory substances.
