Research Engineer, Super Resolution Light Microscopy and Nanoscopy Lab Facility,ICFO, Barcelona

Jordi Andilla performed his PhD in applied Physics working in Holographic Optical Tweezers (HOT) for biomedical applications in the UB. In this work, he developed and characterized a complete system of HOT and he demonstrated its usability in in-situ biological experiments and single molecule DNA.

From 2009 to 2011 he moved to industry to work as a PostDoc in the company Imagine Optic (France) to develop the field of Adaptive Optics (AO) and its application for biological microscopy. After that, he moved to ICFO as research engineer to develop, maintain and support the systems of the Super resolution light microscopy and nanoscopy lab facility (SLN). Specifically, in non-linear, light-sheet and super-resolution microscopy.

Abstracts of the 7th European Super-Resolution User-Club Meeting

The 7th Super-Resolution User Club Meeting was held in collaboration with Prof Pavel Hozák , at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the ASCR in Prague. Keeping the event close to science is one of the founding principles of the event, allowing all participants to network, share and explore exciting new super-resolution and nanoscopy applications. Central to this are the scientific talks given during the meeting, with this cutting-edge microscopy technique as their central theme. A wide selection of topics were covered, prompting interesting discussions during the workshops.
