Vincent Schoonderwoert obtained his MSc. and PhD degree in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands). After that, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University under supervision of Prof. Paul Forscher where he studied the biomolecular events underlying neuronal growth cone targeting with TIRF live-cell imaging and epi-fluorescence techniques. He continued his postdoctoral career in the lab of Prof. Judith Klumperman (University Medical Center Utrecht) developing and applying high-throughput image-based cell assays, and using TEM and various optical imaging techniques to find new components involved in the routing of lysomal enzymes. Since five years, he is a Senior Imaging Specialist/Account Manager/Scientific Writer at Scientific Volume Imaging, the company that makes the high-quality Huygens deconvolution, visualization and analysis software.
