Francesca D’Este , PhD

Francesca D'Este completed a 5-year Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Trieste and a PhD in Biomedical Science and Biotechnology at the University of Udine, Italy. After her PhD, she focused during her first postdoc on the therapeutic potential of natural antimicrobial peptides as anti-infective and immunomodulatory agents and then worked in cancer research in the field of photodynamic therapy. She is currently head of the confocal microscopy facility at the Department of Medicine, University of Udine Italy.
