Idoya Lahortiga

Idoya Lahortiga received her European PhD degree at the University of Pamplona, Spain for her work in characterization of genes involved in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. From there, she went to work as a PostDoc at the laboratory for Molecular Biology of Leukemia in Leuven, Belgium where she studies the involvement of kinases in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and the use of small molecules as a treatment for this disease in vitro and in vivo.

In February 2011, she co-founded somersault18:24, a company specialized in production of scientific illustrations and animations for the research scientist.
