Sebastian Bänfer
Sebastian Bänfer studied Biomedical Science at the Philipps-University Marburg, Germany. During his studies he focused on Biochemistry and Cell Biology. After his bachelor thesis "Identification of endosomal compartments using super-resolution light microscopy" he was appointed in 2013 to the so-called "fast track"-program allowing him to start directly with the work on his PhD-project after four years of university studies. He is currently working at the Institute of Cytobiology and Cytopathology. He is also coordinator of the bioimaging facility of the Collaborative Research Center 593 "Mechanisms of Cellular Compartimentalization". His research is focused on intracellular transport mechanisms by the use of super-resolution light microscopy. Sebastian Bänfer is a member of the research group of Prof. Dr. Ralf Jacob.
