In 1981, as a former Leica employee from Germany, Wilfred Nuhsbaum opened a US dealership in the northwest Chicago suburb of McHenry, IL. Originally representing fine Swiss and German brands such as Leitz, Wild, and Bausch and Laumb, W. Nuhsbaum, Inc. joined Leica during a large merger which ushered in the new era of Leica microscopes. While Wilfred has retired from the business he started, the vision of selling quality Swiss and German optics lives on with the current owner/employees at W. Nuhsbaum, Inc. With 34 years of experience selling and supporting Leica microscopes in the Midwest, W. Nuhsbaum, Inc. has earned and continues to earn the trust, respect, and loyalty of its customers.
