Justus Liebig University Gießen, Department of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management, Gießen, Germany
The Justus Liebig University is one of Germany’s top research universities featuring an extraordinarily broad range of subjects. Both rich in tradition and highly innovative, JLU is host to a number of projects which are beacons of German research.
In 1999 the former Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Protection and the Faculty of Nutritional Sciences were verified to the new Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management. This provided the basis for a scientific view of the whole food chain - starting from primary production and effects on the environment via processing, quality control and distribution to the food consumer.
Consumables for Laser Microdissection
There are many different types of consumables for laser microdissection (LMD) systems. They cover a wide range of applications from basic to highly specialized, enabling scientists to choose their own…Read articleLaser Microdissection (LMD) and Fancy Applications
New and far-reaching applications have recently been opened up in the field of laser microdissection. In addition to conventional dissection, the laser microdissection system (LMD) of Leica…Read articleEuro-BioImaging – the pan-European Open Access Research Infrastructure Project for Biological and Medical Imaging Technologies
Euro‐BioImaging is a large‐scale pan‐European research infrastructure project on the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) Roadmap. Its mission is to build a distributed imaging…Read articleStem Cells in the Aging Process – the Signal Protein p53 as "Guardian of the Genome"
The physiological process of aging is an elementary part of life. The processes responsible for the aging process and the effect they have is one of the key focuses of biomedical research. Dr. Yvonne…Read articleComparison of the RNA Quality of Native Tissue Samples with Tissue Samples after UV Laser Microdissection
Due to its instability, RNA is generally more difficult to work with than DNA. RNA does not have the stability of the DNA double helix. To obtain the best results when dealing with RNA it is essential…Read articleAn Introduction to Laser Microdissection
Laser microdissection is a highly selective process for preparing samples for DNA, RNA and protein analysis. It is a microscope-controlled manipulation technique for the precise separation of samples…Read articleApplications of Laser Microdissection
Laser microdissection and laser micromanipulation are suitable for gaining a differentiated insight into the function of genes and proteins, and are used for a wide range of applications in…Read article
