The Leica CM1510 S is the best value cryostat available for all cryo-applications and even critical applications such Mohs surgery samples of skin which allows rapid freezing and sectioning of skin cancer samples in multiple thin layers.

Time is crucial when sectioning frozen specimens - An actively cooled quick freezing shelf and a powerful refrigeration system are needed to get rapid results. In a minimum of time can the specimen be clamped and oriented with the easy to use orientation system.

The motorized coarse feed in two speeds per direction enables rapid trimming. The high precision microtome produces reproducible thin sections. The thickness is adjustable between 1 and 60µm thickness.

To ensure protection against injury when changing specimens knives or blades, the smooth running handwheel is lockable in the upper position. Both, the blade holder CE for disposable blades or knife holder CN for conventional knives are equipped with safety guards.
