About AASNS

The Asian-Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS) was established in 1964. It is the largest of the five official continental societies under the umbrella of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies. The Congress, Asian-Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (AACNS) is a major scientific event that the Society organized, initially every four years and then changed to biennial in recent years.

This time the two major neurosurgical organizations of Taiwan, the Taiwan Academy of Neurosurgery (TANS) and the Taiwan Neurosurgical Society (TNS) collaborated together to host this biennial meeting in Taiwan. This meeting will be combined with the 2024 annual meeting of TANS and TNS. In addition, we plan to invite the other four continental societies in the world as well as the World Academy of Neurosurgery (WANS), to be our meeting partners. Global experts of neurosurgery and world-renowned neuroscientists not only from Asia but also from other parts of the world will convergent at this meeting to share their expertise with cutting edge knowledge and experiences in various subspecialties of neurosurgery. Since Taiwan has the most advanced technology in computer science and artificial intelligence, special programs with emphasis on the application of these innovations in neurosurgical and general health care will be arranged. Multiple satellite meetings and education courses will also be arranged before and after the Congress.

The congress venue will be at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center located at the water front of this southern harbor city of Taiwan. A subtropic metropolis, Kaohsiung is vibrant and attractive with nature resources in its vicinity. We sincerely hope that all attendees to this meeting will have a rewarding experience and return home with valuable information to inform your work. We also hope that you have an opportunity to explore this beautiful island of Formosa, which offers a wonderful variety of cultural, scenery and culinary delights for you to enjoy, all of which are enhanced by Taiwan’s superb hospitality.
