Constantin Kappel

Dr. Constantin Kappel originally studied Biochemistry at the University of Tübingen in Germany and at the University of Toronto in Canada. In 2003 he moved to the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg to study with Prof Dr. Roland Eils in the Department of Theoretical Bioinformatics and in 2007 he joined Leica Mikrosysteme Vertrieb GmbH as European Product Specialist FCS /FLIM. He obtained his Doctoral degree from the University of Heidelberg in 2009 and in 2010 he became Product Manager, Confocal Microscopy at Leica Microsystems CMS GmbH, Mannheim, Germany.

Donor (D) and acceptor (A) molecule which participate in FRET (Förster resonance energy transfer).

What is FRET with FLIM (FLIM-FRET)?

This article explains the FLIM-FRET method which combines resonance energy transfer and fluorescence lifetime imaging to study protein-protein interactions.
