Cryo CLEM System

Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) combines the advantage of Fluorescence Microscopy (FM) with that of Electron Microscopy (EM) to study the same sample and gain new biological insights. While in FM specific proteins are labelled and identified to visualize their dynamics and interactions in fixed or living cells, EM serves to obtain the full context and high-resolution detail. Cryo CLEM combines low-temperature FM with cryo EM. It is becoming increasingly popular as it allows the identification of small target structures based on their fluorescence signal in a very efficient way.

Cryo CLEM workflow Solutions

The Leica EM Cryo CLEM system allows users to transfer samples from cryo sample preparation instruments to Leica Microsystems' fixed stage light microscopes fast, safely, and without risking contamination. The workflow covers all steps up to loading - always under cryo conditions.

Save time identifying your ROIs (regions of interest) in the Fluorescence Microscope before moving to the Cryo-TEM.
