ATTO 386H is a hydrophilic fluorescent marker with a coumarin structure. The characteristic properties of this dye include high fluorescence quantum yield, a large Stokes shift, high photostability, and a low molecular weight. As a hydrophilic variant of ATTO 390, ATTO 386H is highly water-soluble, and its fluorescence efficiency is only slightly reduced after coupling to biomolecules, such as proteins, even at higher degrees of labeling (DOL). ATTO 386H is an anionic dye. After conjugation to a biomolecule, the dye carries a singly negative charge. Efficient fluorescence excitation occurs in the 365–410 nm range.
